Hackenberg started for the Jets against the Lions, with the hope being that he could manage to start and put some throws together, maybe put a little heat on Josh McCown, maybe give Jets fans some hope. Nope. Not the case at all. Hackenberg finished the first half going 2 for 6 for 14 yards with a 42.6 pa ser rating. It appears the only source of offense this year for the Jets will be Bilal Powell. But Ted Thompson decided to buck his usual offseason convention this year and go out to sign a new one anyway, bringing in tight end Martellus Bennett. It paid immediate dividends, with Rodgers finding Bennett for a 3-yard touchdown that exemplifies exactly why the Packers brought him in. After Mike McCarthy succe sfully challenged a too-many-men-on-the-field situation, the Packers got to continue their opening drive. No sooner did Joe Theismann, broadcasting for the Redskins, say he's not sure how Bennett would fit into this offense than did Bennett find himself lined up with linebacker Zach Brown on the outside of the formation. NFL (@NFL) The Packers are going to want to let Bennett, who is a strong run blocker as well, diversify their formations. But they're also going to want to use him as a short-yardage red-zone weapon. Dak delivers early against Colts picked up right where he left off during his 2016 Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign, even though wasn't on the field for the Week 2 preseason game due to his suspension. Nerlens Noel Jersey Just like last year, you watch Prescott play and he just looks like he's comfortable, like he belongs on the field. There wasn't that question like there was before 2016, but expecting a sophomore slump may be betting against an incredibly talented individual. Prescott exited after two drives, going 7-for-8 for 106 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions and a perfect pa ser rating of 158.3. Smith starts at MLB for CowboysIt's been almost 600 days since last played in a football game (598 to be exact), and on Saturday night, the Cowboys linebacker, who fell to the second round of the draft after a horrific injury against in the Fiesta Bowl two seasons ago, will be back on the field for the first time since his injury. Network's Jane Slater reported the news and added that Smith will wear a brace on his leg. "He is going to start at the middle linebacker position tonight, Kenny Wooten Jersey " Slater reported on Total Acce s. "Now he is going to be playing with a brace on that ankle. That's going to ... keep him close to the ground, help him accelerate when he's running."
