The stainless steel casting process is straightforward, yet capable of producing highly detailed glass faucets with tight tolerances. In order to start the manufacturing process, an accurate mold needs to be created from a CAD drawing or 3d file. After completing the mold, the wax is injected and completely filled into the mold to form a wax mold, which is the same shape as the glass faucet.
The finished wax mold is then assembled onto a tree-like runner, which includes several wax molds. Then, the assembly was repeatedly dipped in a ceramic slurry and coated with sand several times to form a ceramic shell mold. Then, dry the shell at room temperature.
Next, the hardened ceramic mold is heated in an oven to remove the wax, creating an empty mold cavity. The molten stainless steel is then poured into a ceramic shell to solidify. After cooling, remove the surface casing and cut individual glass sleeves from the assembly. Finally, the cast glass faucet is sanded and shot peened for a clean finish.
