The main causes of electrode loss in steelmaking are chemical loss caused by oxidation and physical loss caused by electrode breakage. The reason of chemical loss is that the design of length and angle of oxygen lance on the inner wall of electric furnace is unreasonable, and the excessive oxygen flow of oxygen lance on the furnace gate during the period of scrap material cleaning causes serious oxidation on the electrode surface and the increase of chemical loss. The solutions are as follows: 1. Optimize the angle of the oxygen gun to avoid the direct action of the blown oxygen on the electrode; 2. Optimize the use process of the oxygen gun to adjust and control the maximum oxygen flow of the oxygen gun. The causes of electrode breakage are divided into mechanical failure and electric phase master control. Mechanical fault control: 1 reasonable distribution. The distribution of various steel materials in the basket is reasonable to avoid the formation of a mass of light and thin steel materials on the top of the furnace, which is difficult to go down, thus forming a large piece of waste steel to break the electrode; 2. During the melting, pay attention to the distribution of the unburned furnace materials, and for the generated bridge structure, through the method of oxygen blowing or physical swing, let the furnace materials collapse at the electrode rising position to avoid breaking the electrode; 3. The installation of electrode shall be reasonable and standardized to ensure the stable clamping installation; 4. The position of electrode connection shall be correct, and the electrode holder shall be above the connection, and shall not be clamped on the sleeve head with open or rings. Electric phase control measures: 1. After high-voltage power transmission, ensure three-phase balance of secondary short network no-load voltage; 2. Before the electrode automatically drops, confirm that the scrap layer directly below the electrode is conductive; 3. After the first phase electrode drops and contacts the scrap, observe whether the secondary voltage of the phase electrode immediately drops; 4. When an arc occurs at a phase electrode, ensure that the secondary current display of the phase electrode can be seen; 5 regularly check the brake force of the electrode hydraulic drive structure.
