Nevertheless, there are a 2K21 MT couple annoying gameplay issues I have come across, too. Fastbreaks seem slightly improved, but player spacing is still noticeably off. For example, even my best three-point shooters will track within the three-point line on fast breaks when they would be better off finding space in the corner. In general, it feels like NBA 2K21 hasn't completely adapted to the emphasis modern NBA basketball has set on the three-point line. Quick catch-and-shoots are not as common as they should be, and final out remains far too simple on protection. Similarly frustrating is the CPU's capacity to make difficulties for itself. In my short time with NBA 2K21, I have already seen two backcourt violations on wide-open inbounds passes. It served as a jarring reminder I was not, in fact, experiencing a true game of NBA basketball. From a cursory glance, MyLeague appears to have received almost zero updates. The manner has a decent set of features built into it , but this is the second year in a row without striking advancements. As someone who enjoys to deep-dive into franchise building, it is really disappointing that there's so little effort being placed into the manner. Luckily, MyTeam has at least ditched its horrible casino aesthetic from last year. Make no mistake, even however -- even though it looks different, it seems heavily determined by microtransactions and purchasing packs. Like I said in last year's review, it's apparent the MyTeam's central aim is to extract as much cash as you're willing to give up so as to avoid needing to grind out mundane challenges to advancement, and it does not appear anything has changed in this section. There does seem to be an emphasis on customization for MyTeam this year: now you can select different skill paths for your development cards, like focusing on athleticism or playmaking, which should help guide players to better fit beneath my personal playing style.Over the weekend I will be diving deeper into sport modes, including the Buy NBA 2K21 MT Coins new single-player story campaign, the re-designed Neighborhood, WNBA quickplay, and internet play before wrapping up this review before the end of next week. |
