Very cheap and non degradeable, the only great thing is it's the best OSRS gold prayer bonus but awful defence, I wouldn't reccomend. In practice, def does not mean crap. Str and prayer thing more, therefore Prosy over Guthans Plate. My prayers, if used constantly (just a shield pray), wipes out my pray to 0 at a minuite or 2. I flash shield prayers (on just b4 opp atks, off only after), also with 2 pray containers, it can last for well over the time it takes for me to acquire whole inv, or so.

Bad part is, cuz of lag, even this fails from time to time, and I get struck. If I don't have great def, the couple seconds of lag wud mean the loss of half of my bank lol. So if I do change in my pray continuosly, it would finish by the time that I get 2-4 kills. (blue drags) and with pros, id get a few added seconds, and rly wudnt have the ability to maintain potting pray cuz its expensive too... However ty anyways.

I'd definitely suggest doing the Fremminik Quests. They are good fun and provide you with a Neitiznot Helmet, which is probably one of the best helmets in-game. Second, because you've got a budget of 1mil I'd advocate doing Barbarian Assault so you can find the Fighter Torso. It does not cost any money, it gives excellent Strength bonuses and seems alright. Amulet of Glory is great. Ring of Wealth is great. Another economical yet powerful choice is the Explorers Rings. Obby cape is great. Dragon boots is great (if you get them) For your weapon I would definitely go for a whip or a Dragon Scimitar. Monkey Madness is needed for your own Dragon Scimmy plus it will take some time but it's definitely well worth it for coaching Strength. Whip on the other hand is excellent for attack and defence. Additionally to get a fantastic set of gloves I recommend doing RFD for Dragon/Barrows gloves. Heck even Mithril gloves are really excellent. For them you want to do Recipe for Disaster, and I certainly recommend you do this Old school runescape gold to the maximum you can...
