High-pressure die casting, also known as traditional die casting, is a metal casting process that involves injecting molten metal — such as steel, zinc, copper, aluminum, lead, magnesium, and other metals — into a three-dimensional mold after it has been formed. A liquid, molten state of the base metal is achieved by heating die casting until it becomes liquid. It is then forced into the cavity of the mold, allowingaluminum die castings to take on the shape of the mold once it has been allowed to cool.

Die casting mould is used to manufacture everything from engine blocks to aerospace components and even heavy-duty fasteners, to name a few applications. While there are many different ways to go aboutzinc die casting, the majority of high-pressure die casting processes are comprised of the four steps listed below.

Preparing the Mold (Step 1)
Mold preparation is the first step in the process of zinc alloy die casting. This initial step involves the application of a lubricant to the interior walls of the mold by the manufacturing company's employees. This is critical because the lubricant regulates the temperature of the mold while also forming a film between the molten metal and the mold, allowing for easier removal of the casting after it has been formed.

Injection (number two)
Following the preparation of the die mold, the manufacturing company injects molten metal intoChina die casting manufacturer. During this step, the mold must be completely closed and sealed to prevent leakage. It will not be able to "accept" the highly pressurized molten metal unless it is done so. It is possible to inject molten metal into a mold at pressures ranging from 1,500 pounds per square inch (PSI) to 25,000 pounds per square inch (PSI), depending on the application. The mold keeps this pressure on the molten metal untilzinc die castings has cooled and solidified completely.

Following that, the manufacturing company ejects the newly formed cavity from the molding machine. The mold itself is typically equipped with ejector pins, which, when engaged, cause the cavity to be released. Of course, for it to eject, the cavity must be completely solid. If the raw metal is still liquid when it is poured into the mold, the manufacturing company must wait for it to cool before it can remove the cavity from it.
