D2R Runewords Beginner's Guide contains everything you need to know to level up and progress through the game (D2R) as quickly as possible. This Diablo 2 Guide is intended for new players, but if you haven't played in a while, you may find it useful to brush up on your knowledge. Leveling up in  is similar to other games in that it becomes increasingly difficult as you progress through the game. Following completion of the first difficulty (Normal), you may notice that you are having difficulty keeping up with your current location and that you are not gaining as much experience as you would like. By following this Guide, you will ensure that you are getting the most out of each run that you complete and that you gain the most experience.

If you are at a certain level, there are some areas that will provide you with significantly more experience than you would normally get by simply walking around the map. This is due to the fact that these areas contain large packs of monsters or monsters that are unique to them. The idea behind this is that you travel to these locations and eliminate all of the enemies that you encounter. Once you have finished, exit your current game and start a new one, repeating the process until you have reached the recommended level. The following method may seem a little repetitive, but it is the most efficient method of leveling up in D2R Runewords.

Tristram must be cleared on a regular basis. Activating the portal to Tristam will be required during the course of the quest The Search for Cain. This run can be completed in the shortest amount of time by teleporting into the Stony Field using the waypoint. Locate the Tristam portal and enter it, defeating all enemies along the way. You want to concentrate your efforts on elites, which typically spawn in the middle of the map.

Clear Tal Rasha's Tombs in the Diablo 2 Act II Canyon of the Magi (last waypoint) to complete the mission. Before you can enter the Canyon of the Magi, you must first complete the Summoner quest. The goal is for you to go into each of Tal Rasha's tombs and kill all of the enemies there. Once you have finished, proceed to the next tomb and repeat the process. Included in this category are both the fake tombs and the real tomb. When you have cleared all of the tombs, simply start a new game and repeat the process.

The Rite of Passage (Normal difficulty) can be completed once you have reached level 24, and completing it will grant one level as well as the ability to perform Baal runs. You'll want to wait until you've reached Diablo 2 level 24 before attempting this quest, as doing so will result in the highest amount of experience possible. You will be promoted to level 25 once you have completed this task.

Clear Chaos Sanctuary (Diablo's Lair) on a regular basis, or complete all Baal runs. Baal Runs are my preferred method of leveling up because they require the least amount of effort on my part. You simply teleport to the Worldstone Keep Lvl 2 on Act 5 (the final waypoint) and proceed to the Throne of Destruction from there. Once you've arrived, defeat all of Baal's waves before exiting the game and starting over. It is not required to kill Baal in order to gain experience, but you may wish to do so in order to see if you can obtain any additional items.

Chaos Sanctuary is the alternative option. If you want to finish this run, all you have to do is teleport to the City of the Damned on Act IV (the final waypoint) and proceed towards the Chaos Sanctuary. Defeat all of your opponents, as well as any elites that emerge from the seals. Once you've finished, you can go ahead and kill Diablo for some additional loot. Complete the Rite of Passage (Difficulty level: Nightmare). Once you reach Diablo 2 level 40, you should be able to take on Nightmare Difficulty without too much difficulty. Replay Acts I through IV for a second time, and then complete the Rite of Passage quest line.

Clear the Chaos Sanctuary on a regular basis and complete all of the Baal runs in Diablo 2 (Nightmare difficulty). Once you've completed the Rite of Passage questline, you should begin doing Nightmare Difficulty runs in either the Baal or Chaos Sanctuary locations. There are no differences in the mechanics for any of the difficulties. Complete the Rite of Passage (on the Hell difficulty setting). Once you have reached level 60, you should be able to take on Hell difficulty without difficulty. Keep in mind that you'll also require better equipment at this level because the enemies are much more powerful at this level. The Countess might be a good source of farm runes if you're having difficulties.
